We love movies. Prior to having kids and living the frugal life, we would buy a few DVDs a month, and go to the movies quite frequently. Because the cost of movie tickets is now the same amount as our monthly water bill, we rely on rentals. Instead of going to Blockbuster where the charge is upwards of $4, we go to our local Redbox to rent movies for $1.
If you've never used Redbox, this is how it works. You find a Redbox location in your area, pay the $1 rental fee, and then return it by 9:00 p.m. the following day to ANY Redbox location of your choosing. If you want to keep it an extra day, don't get around to watching it, or somehow lose it for a short period of time because your daughter is going through a kleptomania phase, your credit card will be charged $1/extra day. So don't worry about any exorbitant late fees.
If you join their email network, you will receive a promotion code to get a FREE rental. And if you join their SMS network, you will receive a promotion code to get a FREE rental every Monday. I signed up for that but my phone is notoriously sucky so I should get today's promotion code by Friday afternoon if I'm lucky.
