Walgreens, 3/15 - 3/21

Walgreens

Here's what I see for this upcoming week at Walgreens ~

Buy 2 or more of the following products and receive $3 in Register Rewards: Zyrtec Allergy Relief, Benadryl or Sudafed Sinus or Allergy Relief, Visine-A Eye Drops, Tylenol Cold and Allergy.
Scenario:
$4.99: Tylenol Cold & Sinus
$3.99: Benadryl Allergy Relief
- $1.00 MC for any Tylenol Cold, Sinus or Allergy Product
- $1.00 MC for any Children’s Benadryl Product
- $3.00 Register Reward
= $3.98 ($6.98 out-of-pocket)

Get $6 RR when you buy 3 participating Listerine or Reach products at 3 for $9

Scenario:$9.00: 3 toothbrushes and/or floss at $3 each
- (3) $1.00 MC
- $6 Register Reward
= FREE ($6.00 out-of-pocket)

General Mill cereals on sale 3/$7: Golden Grahams, Lucky Charms, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Honey Nut Cheerios
Scenario:
$7.00: 3 boxes of cereal
- (3) $1.00 MC for General Mills cereals (only good for Golden Grahams, Lucky Charms, or Cinnamon Toast Crunch)
OR
- $1.00 MC when you buy any three General Mills cereals
= $4.00 or $6.00 for 3 boxes of cereal

Walgreens jumbo pack diapers or training pants on sale 2/$9.00
Scenario:
$9.00: 2 packs of diapers
- $4.00 Walgreens diaper coupon from Pharmacy Coupon Book
= $5.00 for 2 packs of diapers

** I have been unsuccessful in obtaining one of the Pharmacy Coupon Books but in theory all you have to do is go to the pharmacy counter, ask about their prescription savings program, and they will give you a coupon booklet with $50 worth of coupons. One of these is a coupon for $2 off a pack of Walgreens diapers. The coupon will automatically take $2 off for each pack of diapers you purchased, so all you need is one of those coupons. Do NOT tear it out or let the cashier keep it. Because it is a Walgreens coupon, there is no need for them to keep it. Let me know if you are able to score one of these in-demand coupons, because my mom, husband and I have had no luck!

Pantene Nature Fusion Shampoo or Conditioner on sale 2/$8.00
Scenario:
$8.00: 1 shampoo and 1 conditioner
- $3.00 Walgreens mail-in rebate when you buy two
- (2) $1.00 MC for any one Pantene Nature Fusion product (in tomorrow’s paper, so buy two)
= $3.00 for 2 Pantene products ($6.00 out-of-pocket)

Wet Ones Wipes on sale for $1.99, with in-ad coupon
Scenario:
$1.99: one 40 count canister
- $.75 MC
= $1.24

Colgate Toothpaste (4.6 oz) on sale for $.99
Scenario:
$.99: one Colgate toothpaste
- $.50 MC
= $.49

Buy Dove products and receive Register Rewards. If you buy 8, you get $10; if you buy 6, you get $6; if you buy 4, you get $2. Also, the Dove products are 25% off this week.
I’m not sure of the prices of these products just yet, but when I go tomorrow I am going to buy either deodorants or bars of soap, whichever is cheapest. I’ll report back with prices tomorrow.
** The ad says “if you buy 8, you get $8” but other people have received $10 back. I’ll see if I receive the same tomorrow, and report that back as well.

Purex Laundry Detergent on sale, buy one at $6.99, get one free
Scenario:
$6.99: two Purex laundry detergents
- $1.00 MC
= $5.99 for two laundry detergents

That’s all I really see for this week. There are low price items like foil, juice, Kleenex, Charmin, and Palmolive dish liquid, but no coupons that I can find to stack on top of them.

And don’t forget about the free after rebate items for the month of March:
Axe Shampoo, Conditioner or Stylers, 2.64 to 12 oz: up to $6.99
Advanced Memory Formula, 45 Softgels: up to $19.99
Walgreens Extra Strength Quickgels, 20 pack: up to $2.99

Walgreens, 3/8 - 3/14

Walgreens

Once again, I scored tons of freebies at Walgreens this week! I packed the kiddies up early this morning when I knew our shelves would be stocked and got all of this for only $8.
  • 3 bottles of Garnier Fructis styling products, on sale for $2.99
    - (3) $2 Walgreen's Easy Saver Coupon (found in the March Easy Saver Catalog)
    - (3) $1 manufacturer coupons
    = free!
  • 1 Glade Sense & Spray, on sale for $7.99
    - $4 Walgreen's Easy Saver Coupon
    - $4 manufacturer coupons
    = free!
  • 2 packages of Huggies Natural Care Jumbo pack diapers, on sale for $10
1 package of Huggies Natural Care Wipes, on sale for $6
    - $10 Register Reward (if you spend $25, you get $10 to use on your next purchase)
    - (3) $3 manufacturer coupons
**you can find these coupons by clicking on my coupons.com link to the right**
    = $17 out-of-pocket, $7 after rebate
  • 2 14.5 oz Butterball Chicken Broth, on sale with in-ad coupon for $.69 each
**if you buy $10 in selected products through the month of March, you receive $5 back by mail. We go through chicken broth like crazy, so I've been buying a few every time I go, and by the end of the month, I will have bought enough for the rebate**

So my total out-of-pocket today was $18.76, and after the $10 rebate, my total is brought down to $8.76 overall. That's great considering we usually spend $7 just on wipes alone at Target. My total before coupons would have been $55! I am going to post a crash course into saving at Walgreens a little later, so be on the look-out for that. And if you have any questions as to where to find a coupon, just leave me a comment and I'd be happy to help!

Eating Out For Less ~ Restaurant.com Promotion

I don't know what it is about Friday nights, but whenever that night of the week rolls around, we have the desire to eat out. Since we are attempting to limit our expenses, that hasn't been an option for us lately. However, we just recently discovered Restaurants.com, and have become very happy customers. This is how it works: you go to the website, search for restaurants in your area, and buy dining certificates for 60% of their face value. The $25 dining certificate only costs $10!

To make it even better, they frequently offer promotional codes to give you an even BIGGER discount. Right now through the 15th if you enter the code MENU, you only pay $2 for every $25 dining certificate. That's 80% in savings! Some of the restaurants that participate do add qualifiers, such as: only good Sunday through Thursday, must spend $35, or excluding any alcoholic beverages, but that information is available to you before you purchase the certificate. There is no catch!

Click on the picture below to search for restaurants in your area and take advantage of this awesome offer!

New Releases From Amazon

Is anyone else ridiculously excited that Pinocchio was just re-released? Personally, I don't ever think you're too old to love Disney movies. I don't know who gets more excited when I pull out The Little Mermaid, me or the kids. Snatch this up before it's locked back up in "the vault." Amazon has one of the lowest prices I've seen for this, and if you spend over $25, you qualify for their Free Super Saving Shipping.

And the other movie that makes me feel a lot younger than my age is Twilight. Edward.....sigh. I got hooked on these books over the summer, and the movie definitely lived up to all of the hype. You can buy the Two Disc Special Edition for $22.99, and this also qualifies for the Free Super Saving Shipping. Go get it so you can have Edward induced dreams. Just kidding, I totally don't have those.

Vicky's Secret Promotion

My obsession with Victoria's Secret started when I worked in their beauty department part-time during school. Their make-up and fragrances are incredible and very high quality.

Since I work full-time in and out of the home, I don't have a chance to go shopping very much and I rely heavily on the internet to purchase what I need. I am usually dissuaded from buying online with Victoria's Secret because they have such a high shipping cost.

Well, right now they are having a promotion where you can get $6 shipping for any U.S. order from now through March 31st. All you have to do is enter the code SHPFOR6 at checkout. I also noticed that they are having a promotion where if you purchase $50 in beauty merchandise, you will receive a free beauty tote with 13 different trial size products. Not too bad! For this promotion, enter the code FRBEAUTY at checkout.

Click on the following link to check out their promotions and merchandise!

Give and Get Promotion

One of my favorite stores to buy clothes for myself and my family is Old Navy. The clothes is adorable and very inexpensive. Any time they have a promotion, I usually find myself running over to stock up on clothes for the kids.

Right now they are having a Give & Get promotion where for every purchase you make, they will donate 5% of the total to the World Wildlife Fund. To entice you to shop at Old Navy, Gap, Gap Outlet, Banana Republic, or Banana Republic Factory Store, if you click on the picture below, and print out the coupon, you will receive 30% off your purchase. The great thing about this promotion is you can use the coupon as many times as you like!

The sale is from today, March 12th through the 15th.

Frugality is Fun!

Welcome! I thought it would be fitting to explain a little bit about myself and why I started this site.

About me:
I am a wife to A, and a mother to two beautiful children, Boo and Bubba. In addition to being a full-time wife and mom, I am also a contract attorney. I graduated from law school in 2006, and as I'm sure most of you know, law school ain't cheap. In addition to my law school loans, we are also paying back my husband's undergraduate loans. Although we are happy to be credit card free, we will be paying back those school loans for quite some time.

Which brings me to why I started this site. I have always been a bargain hunter. I am obsessive about sales and will research something to death to make sure I am getting the rock bottom price. Just recently, I added coupons to my list of obsessions, and I have been pleasantly surprised at just how much I am able to save on groceries and household items. As a result, the money that I am saving is being funneled towards our debt, and we are well on our way to being debt-free! I have had such success with saving money over the last few months, that I would love to share this information with others in the hopes that I can inspire you to be frugal, save money, and join me on the quest to get rid of any debt.

I hope you will enjoy my website and find the information I am posting helpful and inspiring. If you like what you see, please comment or subsribe to receive daily updates. And remember, I am new at this, so if you have any money-saving tips or advice that you would care to share, please do so!

I welcome any comments, critiques, advice, and/or questions. Please email me at frugalityisfun (at) gmail (dot) com.
